Iorana was born in December 2012, from the hands and the heart of Neus Julià. After a long journey, a trip around the world, a pause to take breath. The result of a crisis, a personal challenge, a jump in the deep end. It emerges in pursuit of an ideal, seeking for a different way of doing things: a cooperative model for the “smallest” and probably the most ethical. We work with makers who are committed to our environment and with proximity and high quality products at fair prices. We advocate for local and responsible consumerism.
Iorana is the contraction of the Tahitian expression “ia ora ana”, which means “have a great live”. Iorana is an expression used to welcome and to give a farewell: a hello and a goodbye. Iorana is one of the words I took away from Easter Island, and this is how we invite you to come into our house, a creative space where it is very easy to get lost.
